Webster-Hoff

Our P/M Capabilities Start with Engineering Excellence

Our success in delivering superior P/M parts begins with our large staff of highly-trained experienced engineers. They work as a well coordinated team providing "hands-on" supervision of every P/M project. We start by listening to our customers needs and analyzing each application. This results in a thorough understanding of the project parameters. Then, by coupling the latest CAD and FMEA technology with our extensive P/M capabilities, a cost-effective manufacturing solution is achieved.

Our Manufacturing Process - Putting P/M Technology to work

Webster-Hoff is truly unique in quality powder metal manufacturing. We start with the proper powder mixture. Whether its high strength stainless, high magnetic response iron, aluminum, brass, bronze, copper or exotic alloy, or any combination of materials; we meet your most stringent part requirements.

Our specialized compacting presses handle low, medium, and high volume production with precise repeatability. Increased levels of productivity are achieved through utilization of our automated robotics parts handling.

High-Tech Sintering

Key to our extensive capabilities is our state-of-the-art sintering process. Webster-Hoff's high tech furnace provides precise control of temperatures of up to 2,400°F. We can process parts in enhanced atmospheres with combination of hydrogen and nitrogen gases.

Our temperature range also provides us with the capability to produce higher order stainless steel and similar parts.

Controlled Secondary Operations

Generally, after sintering, Webster-Hoff P/M parts are ready for use. However there are applications that require special characteristics. In such cases Webster-Hoff maintains complete secondary operations including CNC machining, heat treating, grinding, drilling, tapping, tumbling, ultrasonic cleaning and vacuum oiling. By performing these in-house operations, our customers benefit with quicker turnaround time and consistent quality part production.

Our reputation as P/M Specialists has been built on Quality

We have always put primary importance on our quality control procedures. All phases of manufacturing are guided by our SPC System that monitors each production lot via electronic data input. This consistent standards checking ensures your P/M parts meet or exceed your specifications. Our dedication to detail continues from inception to completion.

Tooling

The tooling department at Webster-Hoff utilizes CAD to design new tools. We are actively involved with our tooling vendors to reduce tooling lead times. Current lead times for new tools is 8-12 weeks. Our goal is to reduce those lead times to 6-8 weeks. The best way to reducing time from order to samples is to work closely with us as early as possible. We are happy to sit down in the design phase to help design a functional cost efficient part. If machining is required, we want to discuss those requirements up front.
